Auntea-Ology: The Antidote Dialogues - The Practice Ground

  • Starts Oct 4
  • Includes 1 private space

The Practice Ground is a 4-week series of live, relational dialogues for a small cohort of 12–15 people. Your story anchors every session. Each week, we pair lived experience with facilitated conversation - honest collective practice through dialogue. Together, we gently examine how colonial and capitalist systems have shaped us, not as a critique from above, but as a shared reckoning from within.

🔴 Live, not self-paced: 4 weekly Zoom sessions, 90-120 minutes each
🔴 Small group: Max 15 participants
🔴 Facilitated dialogue: No lectures. No passive listening.
🔴 No recordings: What's shared in the circle stays in the circle. Your presence matters.

What You'll Learn — Week by Week

WEEK 1: Foundation - Who are we to each other?

  • Focus: Building relational trust. Examining our origin stories, positionality, and the shift from transactional to relational work.

WEEK 2: Diagnosis - Naming the water we swim in

  • Focus: Using Tema Okun's characteristics to diagnose white supremacy culture in our organizations. Understanding how systems show up in our daily work.

WEEK 3: Confrontation - Savourism, solidarity, and the extractive gaze

  • Focus: Dissecting the white saviour industrial complex. Moving from performative allyship to solidarity. Analyzing our own programs, communications, and motivations.

WEEK 4: Sustenance - Rest, grief, and resilience as resistance

  • Focus: Framing burnout as systemic, not personal. Practising collective care and somatic awareness. Holding grief as political work. Moving from critique to practice.

Each week: Do some assigned pre-reading. Then join the live dialogue.

What You'll Walk Away With

  • A clearer understanding of how systemic patterns show up in your work and relationships

  • Practical tools for spotting savourism and moving toward solidarity

  • Language to name what you've been feeling but couldn't quite articulate

  • A small community of peers committed to practicing differently

  • A renewed sense that rest and grief are actually part of the work

Who This Is For

This series is for you if:

  • You're ready to look honestly at how white supremacy culture shows up in your work, and your own role in it

  • You're tired of performative DEI and want real, messy practice instead

  • You have some experience with anti-oppression work and want to go deeper, not start from scratch

  • You're willing to be uncomfortable, not just informed

  • You believe change happens in relationship, not in isolation

⚠️ This series is not for you if:

  • You're looking for a quick fix or a 4-step plan

  • You want to be told what to do, not sit with hard questions

  • You're not ready to examine your own role in the systems you're trying to change

  • You need content to be neatly packaged and easy

  • You're not ready to sit with discomfort, including your own complicity

  • You cannot attend live sessions
